Nigel Pearson confident of Watford survival even without transfer arrivals

Watford boss Nigel Pearson thinks his side would have enough quality to stay in the Premier League - even if they signed no new players this month.

The Hornets have been reborn under Pearson, winning three of their last four League games to move to within two points of safety.

As reported by Standard Sport, Watford are not expected to be overly active in the transfer market but may look to add a centre-back and left-back if the right deal comes along.

Pearson, however, is confident his squad has enough quality to beat the drop even if they do not spend this month during the current transfer window.

“Hopefully we will have some new signings by getting some of our injured players back, which will be really important for us,” said Pearson.

“So bearing that in my mind, I don’t think I want to be talking too much about speculating on other people’s players.

“If we did no business at all then I still think we have got the capability and enough tools here already to get out of the situation that we are in, but time will tell.

“I have never been one for discussing things too much in the public domain. I don’t like to talk about other people’s players and certainly I do think that we have got good players here already.

“So if we do business it is not going to be substantial for sure."
