Nigel Owens to appear on Gogglebocs as S4C announces case list for Christmas special

S4C has announced some of Wales' most well known faces will be starring in an upcoming Christmas special of their TV show Gogglebocs Cymru. The programme, which is a new Welsh language version of the Gogglebox series, was first aired at the beginning of November.

According to S4C, the progamme which is voiced by comedian Tudur Owen, has been a huge success especially amongst the younger audiences. The programme will now be introducing a few familiar faces to its special episode, which will include radio DJs Huw Stephens and Siân Eleri.

They will be joined by S4C presenters Emma Walford and Trystan Ellis-Morris, as well as drag artist Maggi Noggi alongside comedian Kiri Pritchard-McLean. Rugby presenter Sarra Elgan will be sharing the sofa with rugby union referee Nigel Owens and rugby star Jonathan Davies.

All-female rock band and Welsh Music Prize winners Adwaith will also be on the sofa, as well as Melanie Owen, Mali Ann Rees and Jalisa Andrews of the Mel, Mal a Jal podcast. Welsh celebrity chef Chris 'Flamebaster' Roberts will be joined with his mother, as well as singer and comedian Carys Eleri with her mother as well.

The celebrity cast will be joined by the regular cast, with filming set to commence in the third week of December. The special episode will be aired on S4C and BBC iPlayer on Wednesday, December 28 at 9pm.

While speaking of the show's success, S4C’s Chief Content Officer Llinos Griffin-Williams said: "I am thrilled with the success Gogglebocs Cymru has shown in its debut series. Our season one cast are fast becoming household names. It was only natural that we decided to commission a Christmas special with well-known and much loved Welsh personalities joining the season one cast."
