Nigel Farage ‘told he is welcome at Premier League club’ after controversial Ipswich visit

  • Reform UK leader Nigel Farage has reportedly been told he is welcome to visit Premier League club Sunderland.
  • According to ITV News, Sunderland director Juan Sartori has extended an invitation for Farage to go to the Stadium of Light.
  • Farage told ITV News he has been speaking to one of the directors about visiting the club, adding: “If I can make it, I will”.
  • Farage caused controversy earlier this week when he went to Ipswich Town’s Portman Road for a photo opportunity, sparking backlash from some supporters.
  • Ipswich Town subsequently released a statement defending the visit, as the Championship club insisted it is “apolitical”.
