Nigel Farage hints at future on I’m a Celebrity or Strictly Come Dancing... but NOT Dancing on Ice

Nigel Farage has hinted at a future career in reality TV, saying he would consider Strictly Come Dancing or I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!, but would give Dancing on Ice a miss.

The Brexit Party leader was chatting politics with This Morning hosts Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield when the conversation shifted to life after Britain leaves the EU.

He told the ITV presenters he wasn’t sure what the future holds for him after the “historic” events of January 31.

But, he added that television bosses had been pursuing him for some time.

“The Jungle have been after me for a while,” he revealed to the delight of his two hosts.

He explained that his focus on getting Brexit done had so far prevented him from accepting any offers but, he added, “let’s see what happens” afterwards.

As Ms Willoughby and Mr Schofield got increasingly excited by the prospect of a potential I’m a Celeb debut, Mr Farage laughed: “I would be on every blooming trial there is!”

He seemed equally open to the pair's suggestion of a Strictly Come Dancing appearance, but drew the line when Mr Schofield asked provocatively about his ice skating skills.

Earlier in the interview the staunch eurosceptic shared his pride for his party, despite its crushing defeat in December’s general election.

Refuting any suggestion the party had failed by not securing a single seat in the Commons, he said he thought history would remember it for its successes in forcing the Tories to adopt a more Brexit-focussed agenda.

“It was the shortest-lived and most successful party ever,” he said.
