Nicole Scherzinger laughs off X Factor controversy to plug Pussycat Doll tour

Nicole Scherzinger has broken her silence to laugh off controversy provoked by Pussycat Doll's show-stopping X Factor : Celebrity performance on Saturday night.

Viewers of the ITV show have after Nicole and her bandmates took to the stage in semi-nude bodysuits and proceeded to gyrate their way through a medley of their greatest hits.

With many fans anticipating an Ofcom storm for the gig - which ended in the four piece being soaked in water - Nicole, 41, took to Instagram to embrace the furore.

The lead singer was totally unapologetic as she used her moment in the limelight to plug her band's upcoming single and tour.

"Wasn’t expecting that... were you," Nicole teased with a wink emoji.

She then revealed 'React' was the name of the new PCD single previewed on Saturday and told fans the track would be available to buy imminently.

Nicole and bandmates Carmit Bachar, Ashley Roberts, Kimberley Wyatt and Jessica Sutta are set to take the UK by storm next April with a nine date arena tour.

Their performance on X Factor on Saturday night is the first time they've played together in more than a decade.

Bandmate Melody Thornton won't be joining the girls on tour though after previously branding the idea a 'nightmare'."

"I’m not the same at 34 as I was when I was 24,’ she told the Sun on Sunday. "So the idea of getting together again sounds like a nightmare."

However, as they took to the X Factor final on Saturday night, Melody's bandmates were as energetic as ever.

They threatened to steal the show with their raunchy moves with Nicole's fellow judges Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh giving them a standing ovation.

Nicole's rumoured love interest, contestant Thom Evans looked equally impressed as he was filmed looking smitten in the green room.

Speaking after the show, Nicole said: "It was so great to be back together again. The energy from the crowd was amazing and spurred us on. This is just the beginning of what we have in store for everyone!”

While former I'm A Celeb star Ashley added: "What a buzz! Back on stage with my girls! Loved every second of it. Bring on the tour hunni."

The first series of the celeb version of the singing contest was won by Megan McKenna.

After bagging herself a recording contract from Simon the 27-year-old reality star will be releasing her original track This.
