After achieving massive commercial successes with Big Little Lies and The Undoing, Nicole Kidman's ability to find a compelling and gripping TV show is unquestioned and we have a feeling her new TV show will strike gold too.
Her next project, Nine Perfect Strangers, sees the Oscar-winning actress reteam with Liane Moriarty, author of Big Little Lies, and the same producing team of the HBO hit.
The upcoming eight-part drama series will launch exclusively on Amazon on 20 August worldwide, excluding the US and China.
Based on The New York Times bestselling book from author Liane Moriarty, Nine Perfect Strangers is produced by the teams behind Big Little Lies and stars Nicole Kidman and Melissa McCarthy in their first project together.
The drama is set at a boutique health-and-wellness resort that promises healing and transformation, nine stressed city dwellers try to get on a path to a better way of living.
Watching over them during this ten-day retreat is the resort’s director Masha (Kidman), a woman on a mission to reinvigorate their tired minds and bodies.
However, these nine strangers have no idea what is about to hit them.
The rest of the cast is very impressive too with the likes of Luke Evans, Bobby Cannavale, Regina Hall, Michael Shannon and Samara Weaving all starring.
The first three episodes of Nine Perfect Strangers premiere on Prime Video on 20 August with new episodes launching weekly.
Elsewhere, August is shaping up to be a great month for Amazon with Season 2 of Modern Love (parts shot in Ireland), Cruel Summer, Boss Level and the eagerly-anticipated Kevin Can F**K Himself, starring Emmy Award-winning actress Annie Murphy (Schitt’s Creek), all being released too.
In terms of new films being released too, Deep Impact, Ocean’s Eleven, Ocean’s Twelve, Ocean’s Thirteen and Jumanji are bound to please viewers.
