Nicole Kidman and Kylie finally put rumours to rest that they're the same person

You know you've attained a certain level of celebrity when bizarre conspiracy theories swirl around the topic of your very existence.

Melania Trump remains dogged by rumours that the First Lady is actually a body double .

As for Avril Lavigne , if certain dark corners of the internet are to be believed, then she died in 2003 and was replaced by a clone.

For years, fellow Australians and mega-stars Kylie and Nicole Kidman have been subject to similar rumours.

Namely, that they're the same person.

It's a conspiracy theory which seems to be based entirely on the fact that the two women (both VERY different in height, we should add) have never been seen in the same room together.

It's been a source of wonderment for fans seeing as they've both been in showbiz for over three decades, have shared film credits (like Moulin Rouge) and have also attended the same awards ceremonies

Yet a photo of the together has eluded fans, who theorised that they were the same person.

Happily, thanks to the GQ awards, these bizarre rumours have FINALLY been laid to rest.

As news began to filter through that the pair (are they even aware of this conspiracy theory?) had been photographed together, fans went into meltdown.

One Twitter user joked: "This photo better be on all Australian currency by 2020'.

"After 30 years, we finally have a picture of Kylie Minogue and Nicole Kidman together," gushed one grateful Twitter users.

"Kylie Minogue and Nicole Kidman photographed together for the very first time... this was for the gays!', wrote another.

Now fans finally have the closure they crave so much.
