Nicolas Tagliafico issues update on his future amid Arsenal links and other transfer rumours

The summer transfer window is almost upon us and once again Arsenal are being linked with names across Europe and beyond.

Some of the names are familiar ones returning to the fold, but others have been new names for Arsenal fans to get to terms with.

Arsenal's summer plans will be greatly effected by which European competition they are playing in next season, with a far larger transfer budget expected to be available if Emery's team reach the Champions League.

Here are some of the biggest rumours from today about Arsenal's transfer plans this summer:

Arsenal hero makes big admission amid summer transfer prediction for the Gunners

Nicolas Tagliafico

Ajax left-back Nicolas Tagliafico has confirmed that he will be staying with the Eredivisie team, despite interest from the likes of Arsenal, Spurs and Atletico Madrid.

The 26-year-old has been extensively scouted this year, but the defender stated that he will be staying another year in Amsterdam, stating that he is hoping to replicate this season’s fine form, that sees them on the verge of reaching the Champions League final and in first place in the Eredivisie.

"I want to tell you that I will stay for one more season.

"Hopefully it will be a great year, like it is this year."

Leonardo Trossard

The agent of reported Arsenal target Leandro Trossard has admitted that the Genk star could join the Premier League side this summer, but says a move to the Bundesliga is more likely.

Unai Emery identified the winger as a top target for the summer  after having no realistic prospect of signing Trossard in the January transfer window due to tight finances.

And the player’s representative Josy Comhair told Belgian outlet  Het Nieuwsblad via Sport Witness  that he could join Arsenal, but it’s not yet the most likely outcome - and he will cost at least €20m.

"There is no agreement with any club yet. But I think that Germany is a beautiful country for him. You can take it one step higher via Germany.

"Because with Arsenal you are immediately at the highest level and you can almost only go down.

"But yes, it can also be Arsenal.

"If you sell Ndidi for €17m, you can sell Leandro for 20, you know. For less than €20m you don’t have Leandro."
