Nicolas Raskin's dad fillets Rangers boss Russell Martin

Nicolas Raskin's father has publicly taken aim at Rangers head coach Russell Martin.

L’Avenir reports the Belgium international’s dad, Thierry, took to social media to fillet Martin.

Raskin's dad is said to have published a post on Facebook, claiming Martin has an 'oversized ago'. They say the social media activity has now been deleted.

It comes after Raskin was left out of the starting XI by Martin once again for the second leg of Rangers' Champions League play-off against Club Brugge.

The Belgian ran out easy 6-0 winners, with Raskin coming off the bench to suffer with his teammates as part of the 9-1 aggregate humiliation.

"A club taken over by Americans, so I've seen that somewhere before," Thierry wrote, said to be referring to the American group, 777 Partners, who bought Raskin's former club Standard Liege in 2022.

He continued: "A coach who leaves out eight players from a team that reached the quarter-finals of the Europa League last season, a coach who transfers eight players (and puts them in the team) that he knows very well (this kind of thing still exists!) but guys who come out of nowhere.

"The guy has an oversized ego, and that's an understatement, thinks he can go and play a match for the Champions League. Incredible, this football world is."

Martin was asked about the potential sale of Raskin following the game.

Admitting there's a chance some in his squad might not be at the club after Monday's deadline, he said: "Yeah, I think there are a few of the guys that there's a bit of uncertainty around at the moment.

"And it’s really hard to build a team around people we're not convinced or not fully sure will be here."
