Nicolas Raskin Rangers 'ultimate dream' revealed as midfielder aims to use Ibrox move 'fame'

Nicolas Raskin says his switch to Rangers will give him enough 'fame' to reach this ultimate goal in football.

And according to the young Belgian that is to play for the national side one day. The 21-year-old was a long-held transfer target of Rangers as Michael Beale secured the midfielder on a long-term deal earlier this year. Raskin has so far impressed Ibrox fans alongside new signing Todd Cantwell after settling well into life in Glasgow.

The former Standard Liege man has represented his country from U15s level all the way to U21s and will be hoping new Belgium coach Domenico Tedesco will look to his move to Ibrox as motivation for Red Devils consideration. The Belgians are due to face Sweden in their opening Euro 2024 qualifier later this month in which Raskin could face rival Celtic star Carl Starfelt.

He said: "To represent the national team is the ultimate dream for any young Belgian player. I think I needed to leave Belgium to show that I could play at a high level in other leagues and in Europe.

"European football in particular is something I am really keen to experience. Rangers have enough fame to allow me to get to the national team.

"Of course, there are a lot of good players in Belgium, especially in my position in central midfield. So I know I have to perform to my best at Rangers every single week to have a chance and I'd love to play for Belgium soon."
