Nicolas Pepe thrills Arsenal fans with brilliant piece of skill on Emirates debut

Nicolas Pepe's half-time introduction helped Arsenal to a 2-1 win over Burnley on Saturday , and there was one moment from the Ivorian that left Gunners fans drooling.

The £72million summer signing from Lille came on for Reiss Nelson at half-time against the Clarets, making his first competitive home appearance for his new clib in the process.

The match stood at 1-1 at the time, after visiting forward Ashley Barnes had equalised following an earlier strike from Alexandre Lacazette.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang would go on to grab the winner in the second period, and late on in the game Pepe showed just what all the fuss was about when his future was being discussed in the summer.

The Ivory Coast star picked up a pass, quickly changed direction and then brilliantly nutmegged visiting defender Ben Mee, who could only stand still and admire the fast footwork of the new Arsenal star.

David Luiz and Dani Ceballos were also making their first home appearances for their new club, and Gunners boss Unai Emery was delighted with the displays of his new stars as Arsenal won their first two games of a Premier League season for the first time in 10 years.

"I want to speak about the team, but for the first match [at home] it was good," said Emery.

"It's good for David [Luiz], for Pepe, for Dani [Ceballos], who are another step ahead."

"Pepe’s impact is very good. Forty-five minutes, he’s with us only two weeks and he needs more to be fully fit.

"Also, I spoke with him yesterday about how he’s feeling every day with us, how he’s feeling before the match, and he’s feeling progressively better but he needs more [time] and I think today 45 minutes for him was perfect."
