Nicolas Pepe sends a message to Arsenal fans after completing £72m transfer

New Arsenal signing Nicolas Pepe has taken to Instagram to send a message to his new supporters following the completion of his £72m transfer from Lille on Thursday.

The Gunners beat off competition from around Europe in order to sign the Ivory Coast international, and Arsenal fans have high hopes that he will link up with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette to make a formidable attacking three.

Just over 24 hours after his move was confirmed, the 24-year-old has posted a message on his personal Instagram page that is sure to get Arsenal fans even more excited about seeing him in action.

"New beginning... It’s a real pleasure for me to wear Arsenal’s colors and to be a Gunner," He wrote. "I’m so proud and honored to play in that team in which I’ll be able to progress more and more every day thanks to the big players who are in this team.

"I’m so excited to meet all of you Arsenal fans. Thank you to welcoming my family and me like that. It’s thanks to my parents, my bros and my sister that I’m here today so..... Let’s go to win TOGETHER."

Earlier in the day the new Arsenal man also sent a classy goodbye message to his former club.

"Lille, Lille, it's time for me to say goodbye ... After two years under your colors, I leave my red jersey LOSC for the jersey of Arsenal... From the bottom of my heart, I want thank you all, you, supporters, you always pushed me, you never let go, and that, I'll never forget.

"Thank you to my teammates, without whom nothing could have happened, thank you to the staff, the medical team, and of course, thank you to Christophe Galtier, a great coach without whom nothing could have happened. Thanks to all the employees who allow LOSC to live every day...."

Pepe could make his debut in an Arsenal shirt when the Gunners face Barcelona in their final pre-season friendly on Sunday.
