Jose Fonte insists Arsenal fans are 'in for a treat' with the arrival of Nicolas Pepe.
Arsenal are closing in on the £72m signing of Pepe from Lille with the Ivory Coast international set to undergo a medical this week.
The Gunners appear to have pipped a host of clubs to Pepe's signature after he scored 23 goals in all competitions last season.
And Lille teammate Fonte is in no doubt that the 24-year-old will take the Premier League by storm.
"He’s incredible if he can reach the same level, which I believe he will, which he did with Lille last season then Arsenal fans will be very happy," the former Southampton and West Ham defender told talkSPORT.
"He is super quick, he has a left foot which is silky, one vs one he is second to none.
"He finishes really good, he takes penalties, he takes free kicks, he is a very, very accomplished player and I think Arsenal fans will be in for a treat for sure."
Arsenal have brought in Dani Ceballos on loan from Real Madrid while their other signing William Saliba has returned to Saint-Etienne for next season.
Speaking after the Emirates Cup defeat to Lyon, Unai Emery confirmed his interest in Lille star Pepe.
"Pepe is a very good player and also we are thinking only of players who can really, really improve this squad and also give us some different conditions to improve.
"We are working, the club, and also thinking about how we can improve. There are different players on the table with the possibility that we can achieve their signature."
