Nicolas Pepe's message to Arsenal fans and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after debut appearance

New Arsenal signing Nicolas Pepe has taken to social media following his debut in a Gunners shirt.

The Ivory coast international came on as a second half substitute during the season's opening game against Newcastle United at St James' Park.

Arsenal won the game by one goal to nil thanks to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's 58th minute strike, with the Gunners taking away the first three points of the new campaign.

Pepe became Arsenal's club record singing when he joined from Lille for a fee of £72m during the transfer window, the 24-year-old replaced youngster Reiss Nelson in the 71st minute of the game at St James' Park to make his competitive debut for the club.

Following the game, the forward posted on his Instagram account, speaking of his happiness at making his debut, while also sending a message to his new teammate.

"Congrats to @aubameyang97 for your goal. Now focus on Burnley for our first match at the Emirates Stadium."

Aubameyang's goal took his Gunners' tally to an impressive 33 goals in 50 Premier League appearances, Pepe's arrival could just improve that tally further, much to the excitement of Arsenal fans.

The attacker could make his full debut for Arsenal when they play Burnley at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday (17th August).
