Arsenal moved further off the boil as their 2-1 defeat to Brighton extended their winless run to nine games and kept them in 10th place.
The Gunners' second consecutive home loss means that they are 10 points off the top four and five points away from relegation. They have made their worst start to a league season since 1977.
Making his managerial bow at Emirates Stadium, Freddie Ljungberg didn't hide his frustrations with the performance in his press conference. However, there were shades of Unai Emery post-Southampton as the Swede highlighted the 20 minute spell after Nicolas Pepe was introduced as a bright spark.
Below, we take a look back at some of the key moments you may have missed from Emirates Stadium.
Nicolas Pepe's frustrations
In Emery's final weeks in charge, it was deemed that his use of key players was wrong. Wanting Lucas Torreira to be more attacking, exiling Mesut Ozil and Granit Xhaka as well as leaving Nicolas Pepe out of the team.
The latter of those issues has been carried into Ljungberg's early reign as the Ivorian has played just 45 of a possible 180 minutes under him.
As was the case in Emery's final home game in the Premier League, Pepe was brought on at half time against Brighton. Like against Southampton, Pepe lit up the Emirates, adding real urgency to Arsenal's attack.
Unable to take advantage of this energetic spell in the game, the Gunners' play became more frantic as the game went on.
Rather than hitting the Seagulls with incisive passes and unstoppable off the ball runs, Arsenal were second guessing. As Brighton looked to see out the game, they couldn't break them done.
Even though he didn't express it like Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Ozil, Pepe was frustrated.
There were stages in the game when he would be standing in acres of space with his arms raised, calling for the ball but his teammates would pass backwards. What could he do?
Continuing to try and impact the game, he won a free kick late on but couldn't replicate his heroics from Arsenal's last win which came vs Vitoria in October.
Kieran Tierney's warm-up
In all the disappoint that is surrounding Arsenal currently, Kieran Tierney has been one of the few highlights this season.
Not only has he played respectably well since his summer arrival from Celtic, but the Scot's personality has also made him one of the most liked members of the squad.
As we creep deeper into the winter period, however, Tierney seems set on keeping up the imagine he has created so early into his Arsenal career.
Shocking his teammates as well as Arsenal fans by training in a t-shirt and shorts in November, he took it a step further by 'warming up' it just a t-shirt and shorts at the Emirates against Brighton.
While those in the stands were wrapped in woolly hats and scraps and the other substitutes had their snoods covering up to their noses, Tierney embraced the cold.
Although the first half of his debut season may not be going to plan, the Scot has certainly made a mark since switching Glasgow for London.
Granit Xhaka's performance
Although it may not be just one moment, Granit Xhaka's performance may have gone under the radar in the midst of everything else that happened last night.
The Swiss looked his most comfortable since returning to the side vs Frankfurt in the Europa League and was a shining light in a poor Arsenal performance.
Timing his tackles well, making crucial interceptions and jump-starting attacks with his raking passes into the channels, Xhaka got on with his job and did so well.
When looking at the 27-year-old's performance in isolation from the result, it bodes well for the Gunners that has is settling back into the side and getting back to what he does best.
Funnily enough, the murmurs of boos that followed his name being announced on the PA system vs Frankfurt weren't as loud last night. Often, he was one of the few players being applauded for his actions and he even has the crowd screaming "Shoot!" whenever he has the ball again.
