Nicolas Cage spends New Year's in a Somerset pub and buys everyone a drink

Locals in a small Somerset pub were expecting to have a quiet drink to celebrate the New Year.

That was until Hollywood A-lister Nicolas Cage made a surprise visit.

According to Somerset Live , the acting legend stopped off at the Tramways Social Club and even bought everyone in the pub a round of drinks.

Known for his roles in National Treasure, Face/Off, The Rock and Con Air, you would expect Cage to be visiting a-lister parties for the new years instead of visiting a quaint pub in South West England.

Locals described the 55-year-old as a "total legend" and "cool dude" following his visit, where he happily chatted to people in the pub and posed for pictures.

However, this is not the first time Mr Cage has visited the Somerset area, after he bought a house near  Glastonbury .

Cage has also lived in other parts of the UK, including Bath where he turned on the city's Christmas lights in 2009.
