Nicolas Cage says numerous high-profile directors no longer offer him roles

  • Nicolas Cage claimed that directors Christopher Nolan , Woody Allen , and Paul Thomas Anderson stopped offering him roles after he previously turned down their projects .
  • He stated that David O Russell was the only director who approached him again after an initial rejection.
  • Cage revealed he had turned down a role in Christopher Nolan's 2002 film Insomnia and an "early movie" from Paul Thomas Anderson.
  • His decision to star in Russell's forthcoming film Madden, playing John Madden, was influenced by Russell's willingness to re-approach him.
  • Cage is also set to star as an ageing private investigator and superhero in Prime Video's live-action series Spider-Noir , reprising his voice role from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse .
