Nicola Sturgeon urges Scots to "keep the heid" as no new coronavirus deaths recorded for seventh day in a row

Scotland has recorded no new deaths from coronavirus for the seventh day in a row, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has announced.

The latest figures were revealed as the country took a key step out of lockdown today, with pubs and restaurants opening indoors for the first time.

Attractions such as cinemas and museums have also been reopening, while long queues have been waiting at the country's barber shops and hair salons.

The First Minister confirmed at her daily press briefing that a further five people had tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours - taking the total to 18,373.

A total number of 611 patients are currently receiving treatment for confirmed or suspected cases of the virus in hospital - six of which remain in intensive care.

It comes as Ms Sturgeon urged Scots to "keep the heid" and not waste progress made in tackling the virus over the last four months.
