Nicola Sturgeon to make major statement today as she sets out plan for government

Nicola Sturgeon will set out her Programme for Government during a major speech in the Scottish Parliament later today.

The First Minister will address MSPs in Holyrood on what her power-sharing SNP/Green government plans to implement over the next year.

It comes after Sturgeon's SNP reached an agreement with the Scottish Greens which created a majority for the nationalist parties in the chamber.

As part of the agreement co-leaders of the Greens, Patrick Harvie and Lorna Slater, were made junior ministers.

It is the first time ever in the UK that Green politicians have been in government.
