Nicola Sturgeon is set to hold a coronavirus briefing later today as cases in parts of Scotland continue to rise.
The First Minister is expected to issue an update on the situation in Glasgow as cases of the virus spread across parts of the city.
Scotland's largest city is currently stuck in Level Three lockdown while the rest of the mainland is in Level Two and much of the island community is at Level One.
The south side of the city has been hit hardest with testing and vaccine programmes expanded in a bid to stop the spread of the deadly virus.
Sturgeon is also expected to issue a general update on the situation in Scotland. She will announce the latest number cases and how many Scots have been vaccinated.
During First Minister's Questions in the Scottish Parliament yesterday Sturgeon issued a note of caution.
She said: "This country like much of the world now is in the grip of a global pandemic and it has taken too many lives already.
"It has the capacity and potential, if we don't take the decisions, to take more lives in future.
"This is very difficult for everybody, businesses and individuals. My responsibility is to try to take those decisions in the best way possible to get the country through this and as safely as possible.
"That's the responsibility I will continue to take with the upmost seriousness."
What time is the briefing?
Nicola Sturgeon will take to the podium in St Andrew's House in Edinburgh at around 12.15pm.
She will make a statement on the state of the virus in Scotland then take questions from journalists.
