Nicola Sturgeon to deliver covid update this afternoon - here's when and where to watch it

Nicola Sturgeon will deliver an update on the covid pandemic in Scotland in a statement later today.

The First Minister will address MSPs at the Scottish Parliament this afternoon where she will give the latest assessment on the state of the crisis.

It comes as the latest statistics confirmed 2,917 new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours, making up 10.8% of all tests carried out.

97 people were in intensive care yesterday with recently confirmed covid while 1,088 were in hospital.

No new reported deaths were recorded, however this figure is often artificially low as Register Offices are now generally closed on weekends.

The Scottish Government has also warned that NHS Grampian Lab has not submitted files since Saturday (September 19), with investigation into the issue ongoing.
