Nicola Sturgeon is planning on rocking up at a friend’s barbeque with three bottles of apple sour Mad Dog despite the torrential rain - according to comedian Janey Godley.
In the latest hilarious voiceover video by the Glasgow comic, the First Minister is shown visiting an off licence on the campaign trail ahead of Thursday’s Holyrood election amid the latest relaxation of lockdown restrictions.
The comic could not resist adding her own take on top of the news footage, joking Sturgeon was intent on making full use of the reopening of non-essential retail by stocking up before heading out for a 'swally'.
She began her sketch saying: "So i just came in here for a big bottle of Campari, a bottle of Cointreau, two cans of lager, three bottles of Apple Sour Mad Dog because me, Sandra, Big Janette, Isa Mcnamee, Bunty Mcbride, and Bridie Mcbride her cousin are all heading out in to the garden for a wee swally.
Referring to Sturgeon's beige Burberry style raincoat, she added: "But of course its p***ing with rain so I've had to put my good mac on.
Janey then decided to elaborate on Nicola's supposed thoughts about the situation saying: "I was hoping the lassie ID-ed me, but obviously that's not going to happen, so that right annoyed me.
"I'm also going to get a big bag of crisps. I'm going to get some nuts and savoury bites for me and the lassies."
However, the First Minister never forgets to pay heed to the updated COVID-19 social distancing guidance.
Reflecting the recent government advice in Scotland that you can have up to six people from six different households meeting outdoors, Janey added: "But don't worry its six people from six families, two Alsations apart.
"Get the ice out Bunty, get the bbq on. We're having a party!"
