Nicola Sturgeon sends Scotland good luck message as she praises Sky Sports

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has sent a message of good luck to Scotland as she praised Sky Sports for showing the Serbia game free-to-air.

Steve Clarke 's squad are in Belgrade to take on Serbia in the Euro 2020 play-off final, knowing a win will end the national team's long absence from a major tournament.

Scotland haven't qualified since the 1998 World Cup in France, but will have two home matches at Hampden if they can get the job done against Serbia.

The match will be shown on Freeview channel Pick after a decision from broadcaster Sky Sports and the First Minister has thanked them for the move.

She had asked for the first Celtic vs Rangers game of the season to be shown for free though the broadcaster ultimately opted not to do so.

Sturgeon said: "This is the biggest game Scotland's men's team have played in over a decade and the decision by Sky to make this crucial match free to view is extremely welcome.

“During this difficult time Sky are enabling the entire country to come together and cheer Scotland on from the safety of their own homes and I look forward to doing the same on Thursday night."

The match is at the Marakana in Belgrade and gets under way at 19.45.
