Nicola Sturgeon says lockdown in Scotland must be extended following pledge from Boris Johnson to start easing restrictions

Nicola Sturgeon says lockdown "must be extended" in Scotland and warned that any easing of restrictions would be "very, very risky".

The First Minister, speaking this lunchtime, said she would prefer all four UK nations to keep to the same rules.

But she stressed that "dropping the stay at home message could be catastrophic".

It follows Prime Minister Boris Johnson's pledge to "get going" on plans to re-start the economy down south.

He is expected to unveil plans for a slow easing of restrictions in England during an address to the nation on Sunday.

Ms Sturgeon said she was considering allowing people in Scotland to exercise outdoors more than once a day.

It follows an update to the Scottish Government's Decision Making Framework earlier this week, in which Holyrood officials warned the NHS could be overwhelmed by measures such as re-opening schools.
