Nicola Sturgeon's sister Gill arrested and charged by cops over 'incident' at Scots house

Nicola Sturgeon's sister has been arrested and charged after an alleged incident at a Scots home.

The First Minister's sibling Gill, 46, was arrested on Wednesday in connection with the same alleged incident as a 50-year-old man in Kilwinning, Ayrshire on Saturday.

Both are due to appear at Kilmarnock Sherriff Court at a later date.

It is unclear at this time what the nature of the incident was.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 50-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with an incident that took place within a house in Kilwinning on Saturday, 7 August.

"He was released on an undertaking to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court at a later date. A full report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

“On Wednesday, 11 August, a 46-year-old woman was arrested and charged following a report made on Tuesday, 10 August regarding an incident that took place within a house in Kilwinning on Saturday, 7 August.

"She has been released on an undertaking to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court at a later date. A full report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."

Gill Sturgeon came under fire earlier this month after taking a selfie on a train to Edinburgh while not wearing a mask.

She later claimed she only removed her mask on a train to munch a sandwich, insisting she did nothing wrong.
