Nicola Sturgeon's phase 3 lockdown rule changes starting from today

As the coronavirus lockdown begins to ease up in Scotland during " Phase Three ", there are many changes which will take place from today.

Members of the public are still required to wear face coverings while in enclosed public spaces such as shops, public transport and other retail outlets and have also been asked to continue to physical distance.

We've collated a handy guide of the changes in full, according to the Scottish Government Route Map.

What changes today?

From today (Monday, July 13) organised outdoor contact sports, play and physical activity, can resume for children and young people under 18 (subject to guidance).

All dental practices will begin to see registered patients for non-aerosol routine care.

Work will begin to return aerosol generating procedures to practice safely.

Non-essential shops inside shopping centres can re-open, physical distancing should still be followed.

Face-to-face youth work can also resume outdoors.

Also from today, patients will be able to choose an accompanying person to attend appointments with them.

Pregnant women may identify one designated visitor to accompany them to scans/antenatal/postnatal appointments.

In addition to the birth partner, women who choose to can have one additional person attending the birth. Women can have their birth partner and one designated visitor visit in antenatal and postnatal wards.

What changes on Wednesday?

This Wednesday (July 15) further restrictions will be relaxed following relevant guidance and with physical distancing still in place.

Places of worship can re-open for congregational services, communal prayer and contemplation with physical distancing and limited numbers.

All holiday accommodation can also open following relevant guidance.

Indoor hospitality including pubs and restaurants can open doors as long as physical distancing rules and public health advice is put into practice.

Wednesday also marks the opening of hairdressers and barbers – with enhanced hygiene measures.

Wedding and funeral receptions are subject to restrictions on hospitality and household meetings.
