Nicola Sturgeon's lockdown roadmap set to be revealed for Scotland

Nicola Sturgeon is set to reveal Scotland's roadmap out of lockdown this afternoon.

The First Minister will set out what life may look like in the coming months following a winter of tough restrictions.

It follows the youngest school pupils heading back to the classroom yesterday.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson yesterday laid out the four-step plan for gradually lifting restrictions in England.

All legal restrictions on social contact could be lifted by June 21 down south, while shops, hairdressers, gyms and outdoor hospitality could reopen on April 12.

What time is the Nicola Sturgeon update today and how to watch it?

Ms Sturgeon is currently scheduled to give her update in the Scottish Parliament chamber at Holyrood today around 2.15pm.

You can tune into the statement on BBC One Scotland and BBC Scotland TV channels.

What can I expect to find out?

While Boris Johnson did set out specific dates, Ms Sturgeon has warned she will be guided by the data and not dates.

In a statement last week, she said: "It will aim to set out how we will use and balance all the tools at our disposal – restrictions and advice, vaccination, test and protect, and travel restrictions – to restore, on a phased basis, greater normality to our everyday lives."

The First Minister has warned the Scottish Government will take a "cautious approach" when it comes to lifting Covid restrictions, with the aim of avoiding another lockdown.
