Nicola Sturgeon has revealed health bosses are investigating a possible cluster of Covid-19 cases in the Greater Glasgow area.
The First Minister said that 14 out of 22 people who tested positive for the virus on Tuesday are from the country's largest health board area - which covers the city, Renfrewshire, Inverclyde, parts of North Lanarkshire and West Dunbartonshire.
The SNP leader said an incident management meeting would take place later today.
It has not been revealed where in the health board area the possible outbreak has happened - but it is thought to relate to one location.
Speaking at her media briefing, she said all new positive tests would be "thoroughly investigated" and further updates would be provided later in the day.
The 22 new cases represented 0.7% of all tests carried out.
The latest figures showed there were 260 people in hospital a decrease of four and the number of people in intensive care remained at two.
The SNP leader added there had been no new admissions to ICU units since July 9.
Sturgeon said: “ The clusters we have seen demonstrates how quickly the virus will spread if we give it the opportunity to do so.”
