Nicola Sturgeon reveals lockdown could change in 10 days time with road map published this week

Nicola Sturgeon will unveil Scotland's road map out of lockdown on Thursday.

She revealed the report will contain details of how the country will move into the next stage of recovery from Covid-19 in 10 days time.

Schools, businesses and the general public will all be given advice on how to proceed.

Recycling and garden centres are at the top of the list of those allowed to ease restrictions, along with allowing people to meet up outside, if they adhere to social distancing rules.

Businesses will also be given advice on how they can prepare to resume work, along with a plan for reopening schools.

But the First Minister cautioned there will be no changes at least until the end of the current three week lockdown, due to end on May 28.

And she emphasised the need for any changes to work alongside a successful implementation of the Test, Trace and Isolate programme, currently being piloted in three Scottish health board areas.

Speaking at her daily briefing today Ms Sturgeon also revealed a move to test anyone over the age of five who is displaying coronavirus symptoms.

The announcement comes just hours after the Scottish Government said the loss or changed sense of taste or smell has been added to the NHS list of coronavirus symptoms.

The list also includes a high temperature or new and continuous cough.
