Nicola Sturgeon praises incredible East Lothian Scotland flag garden

Nicola Sturgeon has been left impressed by a garden carved out in the shape of a Scotland flag in Prestonpans.

The First Minister uploaded a picture of her smiling in the saltire garden, praising the East Lothian yard as being the 'Best garden on the campaign trail.'

The Glasgow South MSP visited the home as part of her Scottish tour, where she is hoping to convince some last-minute voters to cast a ballot for the SNP in the Scottish general election tomorrow.

Nicola Sturgeon also found herself paying a trip to Gorgie Farm in Edinburgh yesterday, where she spent the morning feeding alpacas and cows, calling the place 'fantastic.'

Speaking to Forth News about the visit, she said: "I'm keen to see what goes on here at Gorgie Farm. It's a fantastic place, right in the heart of Edinburgh.

"You know great animals, growing things here, and a great place for children to come and learn all about the natural environment.

"So it's fantastic and I've enjoyed being here today feeding some of the animals, which you know, my fear of dogs probably extends to not being comfortable around animals generally, but I think I've overcome some of those fears being here today."

Turning to the subject of politics she added: "Look, there's a lot riding on the outcome of this election.

"There's a lot at stake and politicians like me say that at every election but I think everybody can tell that given what we are living through right now, given the challenges ahead of us, the big decisions that still lie ahead in terms of exit from lockdown and back to normality, I think people know that this election really matters.

"The outcome really matters. "
