Nicola Sturgeon lockdown update: What time is FM speaking as further dates revealed

The First Minister is set to reveal further indicative lockdown exit dates, including when non-essential shops and pubs will reopen.

Nicola Sturgeon has said she will release further details on the country's route map out of lockdown during her weekly lockdown update this afternoon.

Some restrictions were eased on Friday (March 12), with four people from two households now able to meet outside or in a private garden. Exercise rules were also relaxed, with some non-contact sports and classes now able to take place outdoors.

However, the FM is expected to provide greater clarity on when a range of restrictions could be eased in her statement to MSPs in Holyrood later today, with the "stay at home" advice currently still in place.

What time is Nicola Sturgeon speaking and where can I watch her?

The First Minister will give her lockdown statement this afternoon at around 2:15pm but can be subject to short delays in Parliament.

You can watch the announcement live on Scottish Parliament TV or on BBC Scotland, as well as the Scottish Government's official Twitter page (@scotgov).

Edinburgh Live will also be running a live blog covering the briefing.

What will Nicola Sturgeon say?

The announcement is expected to give a series of indicative dates for the lockdown exit plan in Scotland, starting on 5 April.

This is set to include when non-essential shops, pubs and restaurants can reopen and when people can socialise in larger groups outdoors.

Plans are in currently place for a return to the levels system, though Nicola Sturgeon told a Scottish Parliament committee on Wednesday that the government hoped to bring us out of lockdown as "one country".

It could mean all Scots would move from the current national coronavirus lockdown rules imposed in January into a new level together, currently scheduled for late April.
