Nicola Sturgeon listed as one of the UK's most 'extraordinary women' in Vogue 25

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has been listed as one of the top 25 most influential women in the UK, according to Vogue magazine.

In the top British fashion magazine's article, they said that women had been "disproportionately negatively affected by recent events" stating that compared to men, women were more likely to have been made redundant during the pandemic.

The ‘Vogue 25’ list names the most "extraordinary women" of this year and in explaining why they had chosen the First Minister, the magazine wrote: "In May, the Scottish National Party, under the leadership of Nicola Sturgeon, claimed a historic fourth consecutive term at the Scottish Parliament election, with the highest vote share since devolution.

"Now, one seat shy of a majority, Sturgeon’s case for a second referendum on Scottish independence is growing ever harder for Boris Johnson to ignore."

Also included on the list is global fashion designer Vivienne Westwood, Zara Mohammed, Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle.

Scotland's First Minister also appeared in Vogue in October 2015. In the interview, she said: "Almost every day as I replay the day in my head, I think, I should have done that differently.

"I'm quite hypercritical of myself… It's a very Scottish thing, always thinking that you've got to be that bit better than everyone else to be good enough."
