Nicola Sturgeon jokes ‘weather in London is Scottish’ as she wishes Tartan Army luck at Wembley

Nicola Sturgeon has joked that the weather in London is Scottish ahead of the Tartan Army’s Euro 2020 clash.

The First Minister wished manager Steve Clarke and his team luck ahead of the 8pm kick off at Wembley Stadium.

She added a special mention for midfielder Billy Gilmour who is making his first start for the national team tonight.

Sharing a screenshot of a weather app, Sturgeon tweeted: “Even the weather in London is Scottish today.

“Wishing the very best of luck to Steve and all of (the) Scotland National Team - here’s hoping we can raise the flag over Wembley tonight.”

She added: “Good luck to Ayrshire boy Billy Gilmour.”

Scotland’s health secretary Humza Yousaf also sent a message to the team ahead of the match.

He shared a list of the squad and wrote: “Tierney! Just over an hour to go, can’t wait. C’mon Scotland.”
