Nicola Sturgeon joins cute kids for an impromptu boogie in the rain outside Glasgow school

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon surprised school children when she joined them for a boogie in the rain as they celebrated their involvement in a dance project.

Children from Pollokshields Primary in Glasgow were looking at photographs taken of themselves dancing when Ms Sturgeon - the local MSP - joined them and danced along to Happy by Pharrell Williams.

The pupils took part in outdoor dance workshops in the area led by "dance activist" Kate E Deeming as part of the Dance International Glasgow festival organised by Tramway.

Photographs of their activities, taken by Basharat Khan, are on display in the windows of local shops and restaurants in the Pollokshields area as part of the Four Corners exhibition until November 6.

Pollokshields Primary tweeted: "Wow what a lunchtime! Having a wee Jig outside in the rain and only our First Minister @NicolaSturgeon came out for a boogie!"

Head teacher Carol Wood said: "The children were very enthusiastic and were happy to show their work to Nicola Sturgeon."

The other schools which participated in the workshops were St Albert's Primary, Pollokshields Primary and Glendale Primary and Gaelic schools.
