Nicola Sturgeon has said guidance will be published at the weekend on whether children can go guising.
Asked at her briefing about whether guising will be allowed at Halloween, the First Minister said:
"I can't tell you how much I hate having to stand here and talk about restricting the ability of kids to go guising, but we are in a global pandemic."
She said official guidance will "probably" be published within days, adding: "But it is not safe right now to do these things as normal."
"To parents, to children, think of ways in which you can celebrate...in a way that is safe and doesn't have children or others coming into unnecessary contact with others."
