Nicola Sturgeon evacuated from Scots charity office building after fire alarm goes off

Nicola Sturgeon was evacuated from an office block during a meet and greet after a fire alarm was set off.

The First Minister was visiting the Who Cares? Scotland charity in Oswald Street, Glasgow, on Friday morning.

But she was forced out the building with her staff and other employees after a fire alarm began going off at around 9.30am.

She was pictured clutching a bouquet of flowers as she was ushered out the door where an aide waited with an umbrella.

Despite the pouring rain and the unexpected disruption, the SNP leader was all smiles as she posed for selfies with a young person.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed they were called to the scene at 9.39am.

Two appliances attended but it was found to be a false alarm with no actual blaze.

They were stood down at 9.59am and everyone was allowed back into the building.
