The First Minister is speaking as the National Records of Scotland reveal there has been 2,272 deaths linked to coronavirus in Scotland.
Between 20th April to 26th April, 656 deaths relating to COVID-19 have been registered, an increase of four from the previous week.
The total number of deaths registered in Scotland from 20th April to 26th April was 1,830 – 68% more than the average number of deaths registered in the same week over the last five years, 1,087.
Yesterday, Sturgeon updated guidance on the use of face coverings in certain situations.
In a poll by Edinburgh Live , 57% said they would wear a mask.
The government's national clinical director, Prof Jason Leitch has said masks could become mandatory.
