Nicola Sturgeon confirms that two more scots primary children have tested positive for coronavirus

Nicola Sturgeon has confirmed that two more primary pupils in Scotland from schools in Johnson and Dundee have tested positive for COVID-19.

The First Minister said that health protection teams are 'dealing with these new cases' and 'have written to the parents of the children affected.'

Nicola Sturgeon also added that some children in the affected schools will be told to 'self-isolate' as the situation continues to be monitored closely.

There are currently two coronavirus clusters also being monitored at high schools in Glasgow and North-East Lanarkshire.

The First Minister reiterated that these are 'community-based clusters' with links to schools rather than an actual outbreak at a school.

There are now nine cases associated with the Lanarkshire school cluster which is a rise from one compared to yesterday.

Yesterday it was confirmed that two children, from Perth and Kinross, also tested positive for the virus and were sent home to self-isolate.

One of the pupils attends Newhill Primary School in Blairgowrie, while the other attends Oakbank Primary School in Perth.
