Nicola Sturgeon has said her Government will publish a new strategy on coronavirus restrictions at the end of the week.
The First Minister said opposition leaders would be briefed on the proposals tomorrow and MSPs would have the chance to debate them next week.
She said: "One of the things the framework will set out are the different tiers or levels of intervention and restrictions which may be applied in the future."
A mix of national and regional restrictions are currently in place in Scotland.
It came as Mark Drakeford, the first minister of Wales, said a two-week “circuit breaker” lockdown will be introduced in Wales from next week.
