Nicola Sturgeon 'clear-the-head' walk in Queen's Park reminder of why she loves Glasgow

Nicola Sturgeon set herself up for another day on the coronavirus battlefield with a walk in Glasgow's Queen's Park.

She published a lovely autumnal picture of the south side beauty-spot on Twitter today, crediting it as as one of the reasons she loves her adopted home city.

She posted: "A clear-the-head Sunday morning walk in Queens Park is the perfect prelude to an afternoon of work.

"It’s also a reminder of why I love Glasgow so much."

The walk was a brief respite for the First Minister - who lives in the south side of the city - just hours after Boris Johnson announced a second lockdown in England, and an extension of the furlough scheme.

Last night she issued a statement welcoming the continuation of the programme which gives workers 80 per cent of their wage, but called for clarification from the UK Government.

She said: "We expect to have discussions in the coming days about the scope of additional financial support being made available."
