Nicola Sturgeon backs NHS heroes campaign thanking staff on coronavirus frontline

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has joined the Sunday Mail and Daily Record campaign to recognise the astonishing work of our NHS heroes.

Up and down the country, health service staff have been battling to save lives on the front line of the war on coronavirus.

Everyone from porters and paramedics to surgeons, GPs and catering staff have been putting their own health at risk to help others when they need it the most.

That is why we have been so proud to be part of the NHS Heroes campaign – now backed by almost 200,000 people – to make sure all the amazing people of this organisation know how much they mean to the nation.

Sturgeon said: “Our NHS staff are truly the best of us.

“I am sure I speak for Scotland when I say I am hugely grateful and appreciative to all those working in the NHS for all the work they have done so far in addressing this challenge and for the work they are prepared to do in the weeks ahead.

“I wholeheartedly give my backing to this fantastic campaign and encourage everyone to take part and show their appreciation for our NHS heroes.”

We are building a map of appreciation for the NHS heroes looking after us through this crisis.
