Nicola Sturgeon has announced four covid deaths in Scotland in the past 24 hours.
There have been 6,835 cases recorded across in the country in the same time frame. Today's figure is the highest number of cases recorded in one day.
The death toll under the daily measure - of people who first tested positive for the virus within the previous 28 days - has risen to 8,103.
A total of 479 people are in hospital and 47 patients are currently receiving treatment in intensive care.
So far, 4,950,463 people have received the first dose of a Covid-19 vaccination and 3,629,482 have had their second.
It comes as a circuit breaker is among a number of options "being considered" by the Scottish Government to halt the surge in cases across the country.
Scotland recorded its highest number of daily covid cases for a second day in a row yesterday.
At a government briefing earlier this week the First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said some measures could be reimposed if cases don't start to fall.
Other measures being considered include new rules on social distancing and so-called vaccine certificates.
It is believed that the most recent lifting of restrictions will be the first to be considered for reversal by SNP ministers.
