According to the data, 1,207 people are currently being treated in hospital with 98 in intensive care.

It comes after Sturgeon confirmed more areas will move up from level two to level three as lockdown levels tighten in parts of Scotland.

A five-tier framework to set local lockdowns was introduced by the Scottish Government last month.

Perth and Kinross, Angus, and Fife move to the higher level in the weekly review.

No other region has moved up or down, escaping the threat of harsh level four lockdown.
