Nicola Sturgeon announces 20 deaths and 691 new coronavirus cases overnight in Scotland

A further 20 more Scots have tragically died of coronavirus in the last 24 hours.

The latest figures were announced by Nicola Sturgeon during this morning's coronavirus committee meeting in Parliament.

The First Minister also confirmed 691 new cases of the virus were recorded overnight.

The latest figures mean that since the start of the pandemic, 7,461 people have lost their lives to coronavirus in Scotland.

It comes as Nicola Sturgeon is today facing question from MSPs on the pandemic.

Yesterday restrictions on meeting people outdoors in Scotland from Friday were announced.
