Nicola Sturgeon and Janey Godley team up for 'Frank' charity sketch airing tonight

Nicola Sturgeon is set to appear in a brand new Janey Godley sketch this evening as the pair team up to raise money for charity.

The FM has recorded a “Frank, Get the Door” skit with the Scots comedian to raise money for tonight’s (Friday 16 October) STV Children’s Appeal - which raises cash for vulnerable children and young people across Scotland.

Janey Godley's voice-overs of the Ms Sturgeon’s daily coronavirus briefings have been a social media hit throughout the pandemic, offering some much need comic relief during lockdown.

In the duo's sketch, Janey Godley is to dub lines over the First Minister's appeal, saying: “At the end of the day, we’re trying to make some money for the weans – the wee yins need a wee haun oot.

“So if you’ve got a bit of spare cash – maybe Big Jeanette’s tanned the Pippa Dee and Stevie’s managed tae scam aff the menage – just get the money in tae the STV Children’s Appeal.”

The STV Children’s Appeal 2020 airs tonight, Friday 16 October, on STV at 8:30pm.
