Nicola Peltz admits ‘no family is perfect’ amid Victoria Beckham tension and insists ‘it’s not a feud’

Nicola Peltz has hit back at speculation of a major feud with her mother-in-law Victoria Beckham — but cryptically insisted “no family is perfect”.

Following her and Brooklyn Beckham’s lavish wedding in April, there had been mounting speculation of a rift between the Transformers actress and her mother-in-law.

It was believed that their relationship soured when the Bates Motel star didn’t wear a Victoria Beckham wedding dress during their nuptials, which led to claims of a rift between the newlyweds and the Beckham family.

However, Peltz has shut down rift rumours and revealed that there was a valid reason for her selecting a Valentino couture wedding gown instead.

She told the Sunday Times: “It’s not a feud! I keep seeing everywhere that word, ‘feud, feud, feud!’ I don’t know why they say ‘feud’? I mean, maybe they picked up on something? And now they’re labelling it ‘feud’?

“No family is perfect. No family.”

She added: "I think it all started, and I’ve said this before, because I didn’t end up wearing Victoria’s wedding dress. But the real truth is I really, really wanted to wear it and I thought it was so beautiful that Brooklyn’s mom got to make that for me.

“And I was really excited to wear it. And I didn’t end up wearing it."

Her latest comments come three months after she initially addressed rumours that there was a ‘feud’ with Beckham, 48.

The 27-year-old appeared to shut down suggestions that she didn’t get on with her husband’s mother during an August interview with Variety.

During their conversation with the publication, Beckham maintained that the whole family gets on.

“I was going to and I really wanted to, and then a few months down the line, she realised that her atelier couldn’t do it, so then I had to pick another dress,” Peltz explained, about her choice of wedding dress.

Dismissing claims of a feud, Peltz added: “She didn’t say you can’t wear it; I didn’t say I didn’t want to wear it. That’s where it started.”

Peltz’s husband also chimed in: “I’ve learned they’re always going to try to write stuff like that. They’re always going to try and put people down. But everyone gets along, which is good.”
