Bridgerton star Nicola Coughlan has revealed that the popular Netflix series will return for series three and four.
The Derry Girls star plays Penelope Featherington in the hugely successful show and posted on social media showing her excitement at the news.
In a tweet posted on Tuesday, she said: " #Bridgerton has just been renewed for Seasons Three AND Four!!! Thas jus a lil bit iconic @netflix " and in a further tweet added: "Polin Stans this is our moment!!"
The show was inspired by the bestselling novels by Julia Quinn and is set during the Regency era in England.
The series follows eight close-knit siblings of the powerful Bridgerton family attempt to find love.
It began streaming on Netflix on January 1 and has since been named the fifth most-watched Netflix original series of all time.
Bridgerton also revealed the news on Twitter and said: "Esteemed members of the Ton,
"It seems we have a rather special announcement. Bridgerton shall return for seasons three and four. This author shall have to purchase more ink...
"Yours Truly, Lady Whistledown"
Following the announcement, one delighted fan replied: "Never doubted it; the whole team (on and off screen) does such a marvellous job at bringing the books to life! Can’t wait! Thank you!" while another added, "That is the best news I've had so far this week."
A third said: "Honestly one of the best shows to come out of Netflix."
