Nicola Adams and pregnant Ella Baig enjoy Royal Ascot as they prepare to become parents

Nicola Adams and pregnant Ella Baig looked incredibly stylish at Royal Ascot on Saturday, as they enjoyed an outing out together before becoming parents to a baby boy later this year.

The couple - who shared their happy pregnancy news back in February - both rocked super chic looks at the racecourse in Berkshire, as the fifth and final day of the annual racing festival took place.

Former boxer Nicola, 39, cut a dapper figure in a fashionable plaid-print green and blue suit, complete with a matching wide-brim hat, while partner Ella, 24, showed off her growing baby bump in a fetching multi-coloured floral number.

The pregnant model wore her blonde tresses loose and completed her summertime look with a eye-catching black fascinator.

In terms of make-up, former Strictly star Nicola kept things minimal and simple, as Ella sported a bold and impeccably-applied orange eyeshadow look to compliment her ensemble.

The super stylish couple looked blissfully happy as they posed for snaps in the sun, just hours after the retired athlete opened up about how she feels about becoming a mum for the first time.

Nicola - who became the first female boxer to become an Olympic champion after winning gold in London 2012 - has explained to The Independent how she predicts one of the "scariest and hardest" parts about being a parent will be having to step back when her child does something wrong.

"Having to stand back and watch him fail so that he can pull himself back from that failure is going to be tough," she explained to the publication earlier this week - adding that she and Ella hope their child is able to "be everything that he wants to be".

Nicola and Ella - who met in a bar in Leeds - started having fertility treatment in 2019 and after four rounds of IVF fell pregnant with their baby boy.

Tragically they suffered a miscarriage after falling pregnant on the second round of fertility treatment.

The couple have used their platform to raise awareness of pregnancy loss (PA)

They lost their baby at eight weeks, but they said that they both wanted to talk openly about their experience to raise awareness of pregnancy loss and fertility.

Earlier this year, the couple announced the sex of their unborn baby - a boy - before going on to explain why they had been hesitant to do so.

The pair had been unsure about doing a gender reveal as they believe it can be negative and damaging, so they shared the sex of the baby in their own way.

Nicola and Ella discussed their unique gender reveal on Loose Women earlier this year (ITV)

They covered a canvas in blue and pink paint before splattering it with other rainbow colours.

"Being part of the LGBTQ community, I am aware of the issues surrounding gender reveals, as they often reinforce gender stereotypes," Ella explained on Loose Women in April.

"I thought this was a good opportunity to bring awareness to the difference between sex and gender and make it less stereotypical. We started off with the pink and blue, then got rid of it."
