Niko Kovac 'confident' Bayern Munich will sign Man City's Leroy Sane

Bayern Munich manager Niko Kovac has revealed that he is 'confident' that his side will sign Leroy Sane from Man City this summer.

Sane has been linked with a return to Germany for months now and Bayern haven't made any effort to hide their admiration for the winger.

Kovac has become the latest in a long line to speak publicly about the move after star players such Manuel Neuer, Robert Lewandowski and Joshua Kimmich, as well as several high-profile members of staff, all spoke out.

Bayern are looking to revitalise their aging squad this summer after a disappointing Champions League champaign and only just managing to win the Bundesliga.

The Bavarians have already spent £100million on defensive duo Lucas Hernandez and Benjamin Pavard but are also looking for a new forward to replace departed legends Arjen Robben and Frank Ribery.

Pep Guardiola is adamant he wants Sane to say and City have slapped a massive price tag on the German's head but Kovac still believes he will get his man.

"Our leadership is very engaged in the situation there. I'm confident and assume that we will get him," the Bayern boss told ZDF Sport.
