Nicky Delmonico hits 2 homers as White Sox beat Rangers, 4-3

ARLINGTON, Texas _ Nicky Delmonico had his second two-homer game in three nights Friday at Globe Life Park to help the White Sox break a five-game losing streak with a 4-3 victory over the Rangers.

Delmonico hit a two-run homer, his fourth of the season, off Rangers right-hander Andrew Cashner in the sixth inning for a 3-2 Sox lead.

With the game tied in the eighth, he added an inside-the-park homer against reliever Ricky Rodriguez when right fielder Nomar Mazara was injured on his hit to the wall.

It was the first Sox inside-the-park homer since Brett Lawrie hit one on June 25, 2016, against the Blue Jays. The last Sox rookie to hit an inside-the-park homer was Joe Borchard in 2002.

Delmonico had gone 0 for 4 Thursday, ending his Sox record 13-game on-base streak to open his career. But he walked in the first inning Friday and got on base three times in the first eight innings.

Sox reliever Juan Minaya earned his first career save with a scoreless ninth.
